Issue #034: Why am I talking to YOU about money

 🤑 Hey everyone,

It’s been 6 months since I started this newsletter at the start of the year, and over that time we have grown to almost 6000 strong.

A lot of you will already know who I am, but I felt like it was time to reintroduce myself for those of you wondering why this random money newsletter lands in your inbox.

So who am I?

I’ll start with the basics, I’m Gabriel, a 26 year old living in North West London who is a little bit to obsessed with money. I’ve spent the past three years educating people on personal finance, whether that be on social media (Where most of you probably met me for the first time), on radio, at events in person or when I randomly stop people in the street to interview them about their money (again you might have seen a few of those on my channel and sorry if you were one of the peope I tried to stop 🤦 )

What’s my background?

I went to university to study Mechanical Engineering, before getting a graduate job at Barclays in the commercial sector, so as you can tell, my background had pretty much NOTHING to do with what I do today. After landing that job and earning a salary for the first time, I began to get a little bit too obsessed with what I should actually be doing with that money. I read every book, watched every piece of content I could, even nerded out and read some journals, and decided to teach what I was learning as I learned it. Long story short, those lessons I stuck on social media led me to build a community over almost 1.6 million people and eventually quit my job at Barclays in 2022 to become a full time financial educator on your screens. (thanks for that btw)

What is my mission?

Simple - to make everyone better with money. I believe money is a super simple topic to understand, the hard part is actually implementing these simple things. It’s absolutley crazy that there is ZERO formal financial education, but if schools won’t teach it, I WILL. I know that my short videos will never teach you everything you need to know, but my hope is that one video inspires one person to become more interested in the own personal finances. And that has clearly worked, because almsot 6000 of you are reading this on a weekly basis so that you can get better with your money which is fricking fantastic.

That’s me, a pretty normal guy just trying to do my bit to make us all a little bit better of.
