 🤑 Hey everyone,

With England hopefully getting the job done this Sunday, I thought I would try and find some financial lesson’s that we can take from how the three lions have performed this summer.

Bare with me, some might be sh*t, but at least I had some fun writing it.

Before I do, send me your score predicitons and I will cover a couple of pints for someone that got it right! (England win prediction ONLY 😅)

Alright time for some lessons:

  1. Boring Boring England

Some people (most people) think that England’s actual performances this tournament have been boring, yet they still find themselves one game from glory. A bit like England, in finance, boring strategies is what the smartest people use to get the biggest successes. Putting away a little bit of cash each month, getting average returns, and repeating for a long period of time will make you warlthy beyond your dreams. So learn to love being boring, it might not win you the euros, but it will definitely make you wealthy!

  1. Defence Defence Defence

At the start of the Euro’s, everyone was VERY worried about our ability to defend, especially with big boy Maguire not on the plane to Germany. Yet suprisingly, our defence is basically the reason we are in the final. Wanna go far with your money, start by building your defences (AKA an Emergency Fund). Tenuous… maybe?

  1. Gareth Southgate knows how to make a sub

Ollie Watkins… do I need to say anything else? Similarly, throughout your life things change and you need to be ready to make the financial subsitution and shake things up. Maybe you’re getting closer to retirement and need to start putting more in your pension, or perhaps you need to build a bigger emergency fund once you have kids. Either way, don’t be like Gareth and wait till it’s too late, make that sub now!

Okay if you got this far, that was dreadful and I’m sorry!

Hopefully England do the job on Sunday and make up for this awful newsletter!
